Supporting students with disabilities

Responsibility for meeting the needs of disabled students is shared across the collegiate University. The ‘Common framework for supporting disabled students’ sets out the principles that underpin the procedures, and aims to improve the sharing of information, clarity of roles and responsibilities, and the consistency of provision. The Disability Advisory Service provides information and advice on disability issues at Oxford and facilitates support for students with disabilities.

Ms Rita Emberton (Deputy Administrator, Personnel) has overall responsibility within the Department for issues relating to disability and is the primary contact for members of staff. The primary contacts for students are:

  Disability Lead

Disability Coordinator
(day-to-day support: first point of contact for help with any issues related to disability)
Undergraduates Dr Mark Wormald
